Hours of Commitment (Part-Time/Weekends):
Pay Rate: $15/hour
- Morning Host: 8:30 AM – 1 hour after the ceremony (approximately 8 hours)
- Evening Host: 1 hour before the ceremony – 12:00 AM (approximately 8 hours)
- Maintenance Host: 2 hours before the ceremony – 12:00 AM (approximately 10 hours)
Responsibilities & Duties
As a Venue Host at Covington Gardens, you will ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to by vendors and guests, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the venue, and oversee the smooth execution of events within the venue’s operational guidelines.
Morning Host Responsibilities:
- Open the venue and greet clients upon arrival.
- Set up external items, such as tables, chairs, and bars, as needed.
- Assist with any necessary adjustments to the floor plan.
- Check in vendors upon arrival and guide them to their designated setup areas.
- Be available to answer questions from vendors and the couple throughout the day.
- Assist with parking logistics if needed, primarily coordinating vendor parking.
- Facilitate the transition between the morning and evening host shifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Evening Host Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests, assist with parking, and guide them to the ceremony area.
- Maintain the venue facilities throughout the event, including the house, restrooms, prep kitchen, and vendor areas.
- Oversee the cleanliness and security of the house during the event.
- Provide assistance and address questions from vendors and the couple.
- Manage lighting adjustments in the tent during the event.
- Assist with the breakdown of tables, chairs, and other items after the event.
- Ensure all belongings of the couple are removed from the venue by the end of the night.
- Supervise vendor checkout.
- Close the venue, ensuring all lights are turned off and doors are locked.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Maintenance Host Responsibilities:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ensure the venue is free of debris (leaves, sticks, etc.) that may impede the event, including leaf blowing when necessary.
- Lead guest welcoming, parking, and directing efforts during ceremonies.
- Prepare ceremony chairs, including setup and cleaning, if required.
- Manage and adjust sidewalls before and during the event.
- Maintain the venue facilities throughout the event, including the property, restrooms, prep kitchen, and vendor areas.
- Support bartenders as a barback, including restocking ice, alcohol, and supplies.
- Lead the breakdown or resetting of the reception tent and outdoor items.
- Address any mechanical issues on the property, such as breaker or extension cord troubleshooting.
- Remove excess trash from the house or reception area to the dumpster.
